berkLEy plaza project

The DDA, City of Berkley, and the Berkley School District are partnering together to enhance the Coolidge Highway Streetscape in front of the Berkley High School. We have been working with Grissim Metz Andriese Associates (GMA), a landscape architect firm located in Northville, to design and implement both a functional and beautiful green space. GMA is a top firm in their field, and we are excited to have them as a partner on this project.

Exciting progress on this project continues, with the Berkley DDA Board approving our portion of this new public space on Coolidge near Berkley High School. Berkley City Council and Berkley School District have also recently approved their respective commitments, too. Implementation for this forward-looking collaboration comes next and we'll keep you updated as it comes to fruition in the months ahead.

Below are design concepts that reflect the plaza.

This plaza will be used as a community-wide space for outdoor dining, displaying art work, and hosting small-scale events. It will truly be a great asset to our community and downtown.
